I have noticed that Tampa's User Group has become flat. I would like to pick it up (if that is needed) and run with it. I was out looking to create a user group in Tampa, but saw we had one here - so I don't want to recreate the wheel. So, what do I need to do to take this over or help get it going again?

Will it focus on a particular aspect of .NET or .NET in general?

I have thought the same thing. On June 19th, I emailed Keith Kabza, the current leader and volunteered to help get this group moving again, but I haven't received a response. I guess your next step would be to contact Joe Healy (devfish.net) our local Microsoft representative.

I have attended TechED 2007 and 2008, my focus is around the .NET architecture. But I would like to focus on the general application of .NET technologies. I am willing to take on any suggestion, because the real focus in around a community network. What are you guys thinking?

Also I have been emailing back and forth with Keith and Dave. I want to get the group kick started, as I am a very active person.

I'm looking for sharepoint related learning opportunities from a developer perspective. I think I'll come to the September meeting on MVC, but I would really like to see a presentation on web part development or workflow or some other sharepoint topic.
Thanks.. Ken

Code camp in December, the 6th, so no meeting. We should hear something about a meeting in January 2009. There have been regular meetings lately, but notice is not too far in advance.

All,
For the group - I'd love to see it resurrected as well. We also have the Architecture group which discusses a lot of .NET stuff, Agile Tampa which covers .NET topics occasionally, and the Office Users Group which focuses primarily on SharePoint development, plus the newly formed Tampa UX group. It may be that people have become spread out too thin to support a general .NET group on top of all of that - but I'd love to see efforts towards it.
